Thank you to everyone who so kindly and in many cases generously and even sacrificially supported us with the schooling costs for this coming year.
Praise God the deficit is now down to approx. £2,000. I always have to say approx. because of the constantly changing exchange rate.
We are trusting God to provide this remaining balance very soon and that will make such a big difference.
People naturally ask if money give to this ministry is well spent.
YES as you will read below it has saved and transformed so many lives.
Young people alive when many should be dead, drug addicted or in prison.
You have a hand in the transformation of these amazing young people who, through absolutely no fault of their own, were left as discarded rubbish instead of being seen as lovely people with tremendous potential.
Talk is easy but what are the actual facts?
I did some careful research and hopefully reading the rest of this letter will uplift, inspire and encourage you. I have called it:
From Survival to Success: Rewriting the Future for Kenya’s Street Children
For a child living on the streets of Kenya, every day is a battle against three invisible enemies: hunger, fear, and hopelessness.
While we often see images of children in poverty, the statistics behind their daily lives are startling. To truly understand the mission of Home of Peace, we must first look at the “Street Reality” that these children are escaping.

The Brutal Reality of the Street
Research conducted by organizations like Human Rights Watch and AMPATH reveals a heartbreaking trajectory for children without a home:
The Survival Cycle: Nearly 90% of street children in Kenya turn to substance abuse—primarily sniffing glue—not out of rebellion, but as a survival mechanism to numb the gnawing pain of hunger and the biting cold of the night.
This means that Home of Peace has already saved hundreds of children from a life of addiction
The Danger of the Law: For these children, the police are often a source of fear rather than protection. Nearly 100% of children living on the streets face frequent arrests or harassment simply for having nowhere to go.
This means that Home of Peace has already saved hundreds of children from a life of police problems.
- A Life Cut Short: The stakes are life and death. Street-connected youth in Kenya are 7 times more likely to die before reaching adulthood than their peers, with violence and untreated illness being the primary causes.
- Causes of Death: A major study in Eldoret found that the leading causes of death among street youth were HIV/AIDS (37%), Assault/Violence (36%), and Accidents (10%).
- Violence: Nearly 50% of deaths among street-connected males are caused by blunt force trauma or assault (often from police, security guards, or mob justice).
This means Home of Peace has saved hundreds of lovely children’s lives from an early, unnecessary and painful death
Without intervention, only about 25% of street children will ever manage to transition into a stable, productive adult life. The rest remain trapped in a cycle that often leads back to the streets or to prison.
Flipping the Odds: The Home of Peace Impact
At Home of Peace, we believe that a statistic is not a destiny. When a child is brought into a stable environment with nutrition, education, and spiritual guidance, the data changes overnight.

Statistical analysis shows that with the right support, the expected success rate for these children flips from 25% to over 80%.
How You Can Help
The transition from the street to a “Productive Member of Society” is a journey that requires a village. We provide:
- Rescue and Rehabilitation: Moving children from dangerous environments into safety.
- Education: Breaking the cycle of poverty through primary, secondary, and vocational training.
- Long-term Mentorship: Ensuring they have the life skills to thrive as adults.
Will you help us rewrite the story for one more child? Your support ensures that a child doesn’t become another “street statistic,” but rather a success story.
God bless you
