• Please also pray for Marilyn who has serious, ongoing, health problems and for Ray as he is still recovering from his accident and hoping to eventually regain full mobility of his right arm.

We have just had another 3 children committed to Home of Peace by the Children’s Court.

The need to take in vulnerable children seems unending. So many children who need help so few places like Home of Peace who can help them.

Every child we take in is a human being. A person like you, with hopes, dreams, talents, potential and is someone loved by God.

We are limited in the number we can take but as soon as there is an open spot the Children’s Court commits new needy children to Home of Peace, During August we took in 3 new children. These are all children who the court have decided are in genuine need of help and protection.

Each new child means we need to purchase everything that they need. Casual clothes, School uniforms, pay school fees, buy school supplies, have medical checks carried out and so on.

This costs us a minimum of £300 per new child.

Maintenance is a constant necessity. Last week our main water storage tank developed a leak and is currently being repaired.

Additionally, several buildings require repairs to ensure they remain safe and in good condition for the children. This includes work on the Children’s Toilet facilities and our Laundry room

The photos show the cement being delivered and the water tank awaiting repair.

All these repairs and maintenance tasks come with significant costs. Any support you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

We are often asked questions about the so-called Street Children of Kenya. This is where many of the children at Home of Peace would have ended up living and often dying.

This is important as without places like Home of Peace many of our children could have ended up living and often dying as street children.

In order to explain the problem clearly I asked Microsoft to research and write a short article explaining the situation and what they see as the role of Home of Peace Children’s Home. The attached picture was also supplied by Microsoft and I do not know who to credit for it.

It is a bit long (600 words) for including in the newsletter but you can read it and if you choose download a copy just CLICK HERE

I was reminded of the famous words from poet John Lydgate, later adapted by President Lincoln
“You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”.

We have had people say that they would really appreciate more regular updates and information about Home of Peace. That sounds great to me.
But
We have had people complain that we send out too many updates and they would like fewer. I understand

THE ANSWER
We try not to send more than about 4 or 5 general mailings a year but we post frequent, regular updates, pictures and videos on Facebook.

If you are on Facebook follow us at https://www.facebook.com/HoPChildrensHome

If you are not on Facebook we can easily send you an email with a copy of the Facebook posts. Just reply to this email and say saying you would like us to email you posts about Home of Peace when they are posted on Facebook

That will tell me to send it to you and also satisfy the GDPR rules for only sending mailing to people who have asked to be included.

You can also read the latest Facebook posts at the bottom of our website Home Page.
