A few days ago, Marilyn and I read a story that touched us deeply. It isn’t about Home of Peace, but it reflects closely what we believe God will do in the lives of the young people you support.

A boy with no way forward
In 1982, Chris Mburu, a bright Kenyan student, was about to lose his education because his family couldn’t afford school fees.
A quiet act of kindness
In Sweden, Hilde Back, an elderly kindergarten teacher, joined a sponsorship programme and sent $15 each term (about $52 today) — quietly, faithfully, without recognition.
Her gift changed everything.
A future unlocked
Chris stayed in school, excelled, graduated top of his law class, earned a Fulbright scholarship to Harvard, and became a UN human rights lawyer.
A legacy multiplied
Chris later founded anEducation Fund, helping children just like him and named it after the woman who had helped him.
The ripple continues
Today, the foundation has helped nearly 1,000 Kenyan children stay in school. Many have gone on to universities worldwide. Many now sponsor younger students themselves.
