TLC Children's Trust URGENT and UNEXPECTED PROBLEM
Apologies for sending another newsletter so soon after the one we sent last week but sadly we have an urgent problem.
Every month on the 8th and the 22nd we send through the money to Home of Peace to pay for food, wages, and general running expenses to keep the children’s home operating.
The 8th was a Saturday resulting in a slight delay. By the time they received it on Monday the bank there had closed so yesterday the money was withdrawn.
We have very strict protocols that when money is withdrawn from the bank 2 senior members of staff have to be present the entire time for security purposes.
Last night we were informed that they were robbed on leaving the bank. We do not yet have any clarity on exactly how this happened because we are waiting for details from the police.
This morning we were told that the police have detained someone in connection with the robbery, and that person will be having a preliminary court hearing later today. Apparently, there is a suspicion that this person did not act on their own and further investigations are being carried out.
Sadly, despite the arrest the money has not yet been found and recovered and as result we are unable to provide money for the necessary expenses at Home of Peace. They need money for food for the next two weeks, staff wages, medical expenses, fuel, etc
Please join us in praying that God will do something miraculous and that He will either allow the police to find and refund the money to us promptly, or in some other way He will provide sufficient extra money so that we can replace what was stolen.
Even if the police do find the money promptly. it may not be repaid to us immediately because it may have to wait until after the court case.
Replacing the money will be extremely difficult as it was a large amount. We sent them £3825 which is what they needed. We simply do not have money to replace this.
Please pray, and IF you can, please contribute what you can manage so we can send them money to feed the children and pay staff wages.
