Brief News Update

A very brief but happy update.

The Kenyan Government has very strict rules about Children’s Homes and as such we have to re-apply every 3 years. This is a long, complex and expensive process involving multiple inspections of Home of Peace, reports from the local Children’s Services, the Dept of Health, the Police. A detailed examination of all our records and audited accounts, etc.

It takes close to a year from the start of the process until we are informed of the results.

Some of you may remember that last time 276 Children’s Homes applied and the application of 233 were rejected. Just 43 were approved. Home of Peace was approved. At that time only 1 other home in the entire Siaya area that received approval. The rest all had to make improvements and changes and then re-apply or close down

We have just received a letter from the National Council for Children’s Services confirming that once again Home of Peace has been APPROVED.

The letter states that the council is processing our certificate of renewal and it will be sent to us.

We thank God and we thank you, our supporters for your financial support, prayers support and encouragement.

God bless you
